First Look At Tom Cruise As Jack Reacher

Rest your eyes on this, Tom Cruise fans: Paramount Pictures has just released the first image of Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. Christopher Mcquarrie, who also co-wrote the screenplay, directs the film based on the Lee Child’s best selling novel One Shot. This thriller co-stars Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo, Richard Jenkins, Alexia Fast, Robert Duvall, Jai Courtney and Werner Herzog.

The story chronicles Cruise as a ex-military policeman who turns vigilante that wanders from town to town fighting criminals and is drawn into a case where a sniper is targeting random civilians.

“He is free from any sort of anxiety. He is truly not encumbered by all the bulls–t that makes up our daily lives,” McQuarrie tells EW. “He literally and figuratively has no baggage.”

“He is an extremely pragmatic, matter-of-fact person,” McQuarrie continues. “He’s very solitary, but he can’t walk away from a situation that needs to be made right. His own sense of right and wrong tie into that situation and he can’t leave until it’s been resolved. That’s his Achilles heel.”
