Jessica Sanchez is a winner despite failing to take home 1st place in Season 11 of American Idol. Just like fellow runner-up contestants before her – such as Clay Aiken, Adam Lambert and Katharine McPhee – the young singer/soon-to-be actress has discovered that the victor doesn’t always get all the spoils.
Sanchez is in talks to join the Fox dramedy Glee, which is already midway through its fourth season, according to a report by Hollywood Reporter. The Idol star would come aboard for Season 4 of the musical series for a multi-episode arc. She will be joining Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson as high profile, multi-episode additions to the series.
However, details on who Sanchez will play and what her connection to the storyline will be are being kept a secret for now. Still, her stint on Glee will likely have to wait until the 16-year-old performer finishes up American Idol’s summer concert tour.
Jessica Sanchez’s attachment to the series is the latest in a number of moves to couple the two hit shows together on Fox. Back in May, the network announced that Glee, suffering a viewership downturn, would be moving to Thursday nights in September to follow after ratings titan American Idol.
