Rihanna arrived in London Tuesday, several days ahead of her Radio 1 Hackney Weekend festival performance Sunday, to record new material for her seventh album with top UK producers.
”Rihanna is working with Marina and the Diamonds’ boyfriend Burns, a Brighton-based producer who is good mates with Calvin Harris,” a source told the Daily Mirror newspaper.
”They’ve booked three days in the studio, which they’ll fit around him doing some work with Kelis. Rihanna’s also working with Nicky Romero, another DJ and pal of Calvin.”
The 24-year-old wore a top in central London with New York emblazoned on it and tiger print basketball-like short finished with a pair of black chucks as she arrived.
The “Birthday Cake” singer worked with Calvin on her “We Found Love” track from last years “Talk That Talk” album.
Confirming her London arrival, RiRi tweeted: ”I’m in LONDON bitchesssss. I didn’t wanna leave NY! I kept missing my flights hehehe (sic).”
The Barbados-born star delayed studio sessions because she was reluctant to leave her ailing grandmother in New York who is battling cancer in the hospital.
It’s amazing she’s able to find time for her family in between such a crazy work schedule. It was just revealed earlier today that RiRi will add a new movie to her plate.
Rihanna will work with Dreamworks studios for anew animated movie ‘Happy Smekday’ based on the book ‘The True Meaning of Smekday’ by Adam Rex. The 24-year old busy body will star alongside The Big Bang Theory’s Jim Parsons a.k.a. Dr. Sheldon Cooper. The film is currently slated for a Fall 2014 release.
