UPDATE-Oprah Winfrey has gone to the dark side. LOL! The queen of talk interviewed the Kardashian family for OWN’s “Next Chapter” and was reportedly “leveled” by Kim Kardashian’s answer over her short-lived marriage (more on that later).
Perhaps understanding some fans would question the move to sit down with the family most famous for doing nothing, Winfrey took to her Facebook page to calm any looming waters.
“I genuinely wanted to know why they have become a cultural phenomenon. Why do so many people love to watch their every move and why do so many others love to hate them,” the 58-year-old posted.
“I had never met them, nor seen the show. I did a full on Kardashian Kram in preparation, watching major shows from every season.”
While some fans may be over the Kardashian brood and in no way want to see the media maverick’s interview, one person for sure was stoked.
“Ummmm no big deal Oprah just left my mom’s house! #DreamComeTrue, Kim Kardashian, 31, tweeted late Tuesday.
Well another one: “Surreal day being interviewed by the queen Oprah. Not many words to explain how incredible the experience was except for AHHH! Major moment,” Kourtney Kardashian tweeted too.
If for no other reason to tune in, we want to see the answer Kim gave to Oprah about her short-lived marriage that the talk show queen declared “leveled” her.
“Everyone who’s asked was the marriage a publicity stunt? Why did she leave after 72 days? Her answer leveled me,” Oprah wrote. Did it? We do have the answer the family gave on whether their mother Kris Jenner is “pimping” them. Kim answered,
“I think that’s so ridiculous,” Kim said. “First of all, we have to hire a manager. So regardless, someone is going to get that [job].
“No one will fight harder for you than your own mother,” she added. “She knows us. She knows all of our moods…We just get each other. We vibe. It works.”
“This interview I’d say was another level of forthrightness and honesty,” Winfrey teases.
