Anthony Davis Insists Top Draft Pick Not Set In Stone

No matter how inevitable it seems, Anthony Davis isn’t quite ready to pronounce himself the top pick in the draft.

The Kentucky star insists it’s ”not set in stone” that the New Orleans Hornets will select him first later this month even though it seems that way.

Davis says the Hornets are the only team that has contacted his father and that he will visit them at some point. He spoke Thursday at the NBA draft combine.

With his athleticism and game-changing defense, the power forward is at the top of a deep draft class. Now, after helping Kentucky win a national championship as a freshman, he’s poised to join Derrick Rose as the second Chicago product in five years to be taken with the No. 1 pick.
