DeKalb Police say they are looking for 28-year old Marcus Ventress who may be responsible for the shooting at a church funeral this afternoon.
Police say during a funeral for 19-year-old Ryan Guider, witness say Ventress fired a shot into the air, resulting in a shoot out. Police say two were killed and two injured during the gunfire.
Ventress was also accused of killing Guider.
One of Guider’s friends was shot in the knee. One other person was injured.
11Alive’s Rebecca Lindstrom reports from the scene that police say a car drove away from the scene and police arrested two or three other people.
At least two people have been killed and two others have been hurt during a shooting outside Victory for the World Church, which is also known as Victory Baptist Church.
The shooting happened Thursday afternoon during a funeral at the church on Hairston Road near Central Drive in Stone Mountain. Donald Trimble Mortuary confirmed the funeral was for homicide victim Ryan Guider.
Investigators said Guider was fatally shot while breaking into a home on May 26. The alleged gunman, Marcus Ventress, is still wanted by police.
Police are looking for a suspect in Thursday’s shooting near Fellsridge Court between Central and Memorial drives and Hairston Road.
No other details about Thursday’s shooting are immediately available.
