Lil Wayne Pulls Nicki Minaj Out of Hot 97 Summer Jam After DJ’s Diss

Lil Wayne pulled Nicki Minaj out of the Hot 97 Summer Jam concert in New York after one of the radio station’s DJs dissed the “Starships” rapper.

“I know there’s some chicks here waiting to sing ‘Starships’ later, I’m not talking to y’all right now. F— that bullsh–. I’m here to talk about real hip-hop sh–,” said Peter Rosenberg to an audience at the opening stage, mere hours before Minaj was set to perform.

Lil Wayne took to his Twitter page to confirm the decision. “Young Money ain’t doing summer jam,” the “Lollipop” rapper tweeted, referring to the group he formed that includes Minaj. His protégé also confirmed the decision on her Twitter page. “Wow. U n*ggaz just f*cked up history. But the President has spoken. #YMCMB,” wrote Minaj. “I go above and beyond for my fans. But won’t ever go against Wayne’s word. What he says, goes. We won’t [be] disrespected.”

Despite this incident, the show went on as planned with performances from Hill, Nas, Young Jeezy and 2 Chainz and Big Sean, who have both had collaborations with Minaj.

Rosenberg makes no apologies for his comment. “Last night I said nothing different than I have ever said…it was not a personal dis..it was starships is [not good]..WHICH WE ALL KNOW IS TRUE,” he tweeted.
