Sources: Arsenio Hall Returning To Late-night Next Year

A number of industry trade sources are reporting that Arsenio Hall, the former king of late night television, is contemplating a return to the airwaves next year. Sources are claiming that talks are only in the early stages, but Hall’s recent appearance and victory on Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice may offer a clue.

It’s believed that CBS Television Distribution, previously named Paramount Domestic Television and the producer of The Arsenio Hall Show from 1989 to 1994, would again team up with the comedian. NBC is supposedly pushing to be the new network home for the show.

The word is that Trump, whose Apprentice series is with NBC, is likely to have a producer credit if a deal is sealed. Hall is already on board to host The Donald’s Miss USA Pageant. Hall said on ABC’s The View that the recent experience of interviewing Magic Johnson and his wife Cookie as a guest host on CNN’s Pierce Morgan show made him realize, “I want a talk show again.”

Both CBS and NBC refused to comment on the speculation.
