'G.I. Joe: Retaliation' Gets Pushed Back To March 2013 For 3D Makeover

G.I. Joe: Retaliation isn’t going to be released this summer as previously reported. The film is being pushed back to March 2013 so that Paramount can convert it to 3D.

A studio executive explained the decision to turn the movie into 3D saying, “We’re going to do a conscientious 3D job because we’ve seen how it can better box office internationally. Jim Cameron did all of Titanic‘s 3D in post – and look how well that movie turned out.”

G.I. Joe: Retaliation had been originally scheduled to hit the oversees theaters on June 29, 2012 and the U.S. moviehouses on August 3rd. The new shift means a March 29, 2013 release in the U.S..  The new U.K. date isn’t reported at this time.

John M Chu directed the film, which features a long list of Hollywood stars including Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Bruce Willis, Channing Tatum, Adrianne Palicki, Jonathan Pryce, Byung-hun Lee, Elodie Yung, Arnold Vosloo and DJ Cotrona.
