Brad Pitt, 48, conveyed to reporters at a Cannes Film Festival press conference that though he has popped the question to actress-activist Angelina Jolie, 36, the two have yet to decide on a date when to walk down the aisle.
The striking father-of-six was at the festival Tuesday casually suited up for the screening of his new movie “Killing Them Softly.”
“We actually, really and truly, have no date,” the Ocean’s Thirteen” actor said. “It’s just something that makes sense to us, and certainly date-wise, it’s just a rumor.
The A-list actors once staunch stance of not marrying before all couples had the same liberty to do so was eclipsed when the “Babel” actor proposed to Jolie earlier this year on the strength of their children, especially the eldest 10-year-old Maddox.
“Brad pleaded and said that everything else in the kids’ lives is not normal,” according to US magazine. “He added that they travel constantly, they are always in different houses and different schools.”
“They needed to give the kids one thing in their life that is normal, and they are asking for this. He said they should do it for them.”
Pitt met Jolie in 2005 on the set of “Mr. & Mrs. Smith,” back when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
