'Dancing With The Stars' and 'The Bachelorette' Top Howard Stern's 'America's Got Talent'

Shock jock Howard Stern was unable to electrify ratings for America’s Got Talent on Monday night, allowing for Dancing With The Stars to continue its reign on top.

Even though Stern was featured in Monday’s season 7 premiere, America’s Got Talent only managed to pull in 10.3 million viewers and scored a 3.6 in the adults 18-to-49 demographic.  This was quite a slip from the 4.2 it earned last year.  Broadway drama Smash closed out its first season with 6 million viewers and a 1.8,  which was close to its last week’s numbers.

ABC won top spot  in viewership with its dance competition show, Dancing With The Stars (14.7 million, 2.4), and the season premiere of The Bachelorette (9.3 million, 2.6). However,  The Bachelorette’s numbers were down a bit from last year’s opener.

Season finales of How I Met Your Mother (8.5 million, 3.6), Two and a Half Men (11.3 million, 3.8), Mike & Molly (11.63 million, 3.3) and Hawaii Five-0 (11.3 million, 2.7) made CBS the leader in this key demographic.  Fox’s Bones, which aired its season finale,  stayed flat with 7 million viewers and a 1.9, while the series finale of House (6.45 million, 2.2) improved on its last week’s performance.

Gossip Girl saw improved ratings (1.17million, 0.6), while Hart of Dixie stayed flat (1.53 million, 0.6).

ABC won the night in total viewers with 11.9 million and a 7.7 rating/12 share in households. CBS came in second with 10.4 million, 6.4/10. NBC (8.9 million, 5.3/8) finished third. FOX landed in fourth spot with 6.7 million viewers and a 4.2/6. And The CW brought up the rear with 1.3 million viewers and a 0.9/1.
