Get ready folks, another athlete has decided to take their shot at the rap game. The unlikely emcee is Serena Williams, who threw down a few bars last year at the B Major Music Group studio in Florida. The tracks were never released, but TMZ managed to get their hands on a clip to show to the public. Here are a couple of her lines:
“I ball hard no tennis racket,
I can see these haters through my Gucci glasses,
I make hits like batting practice,
They be like ‘Yo Serena is you really rappin’?’”
“I win, I really mean it,
Swag out this world, you should call me Venus,
That’s my sister, my name is Serena,
I serve ‘em up, no subpoena,
Cook the track up like a frozen pizza”
Williams looks to be coming with a little more Shaq than Ron Artest in her rhymes. Also, is that a half reference to ESPN First Take predecessor Cold Pizza? Major points if so. No one knows for sure what will come of her music career, but it’s probably safe to say she’ll be sticking to tennis for the time being.
