Robert Pattinson, Guy Pearce Sign On To 'The Rover'

Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce have signed on as co-stars for David Michod’s The Rover.

Pattinson, best known for his Edward character in the Twilight franchise, will play Reynolds in the film, about a man who relentlessly pursues a group of men who steals his car, through the wild Australian outback. Pattinson will play the brother of one of the thieves.

Besides directing the film, Michod also co-wrote the script, which he based on an idea he and Animal Kingdom star Joel Edgerton came up with. David Linde will co-produce along with Liz Watts through Linde’s Lava Bear Films and Watts’ Porchlight Films.

Pattinson’s recent body of work includes David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, which premiers at this month’s Cannes Film Festival, and Mission: Blacklist, a film centered around the capture of Saddam Hussein.

Guy Pearce also has a lot going for him.  The actor has completed supporting roles in upcoming films Prometheus and Lawless, and is also in talks to join the cast of Marvel’s Iron Man 3.
