Authorities still have no leads in determining what caused the four-alarm fire at Tyler Perry Studios in southwest Atlanta.
“The intensity of the fire in the area of origin consumed any evidence that would lead to a cause of ignition,” said Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin J. Cochran through an emailed statement to the AJC.
According to reports, the fire caused the partial collapse to the front façade of one of five studios at his complex.
The fire began around 8:41pm, and before the night ended over 100 firefighters would respond to the blaze. Cochran praised the firefighters timely response.
“The command decisions to call for the fourth alarm response early in the incident was key to the quick extinguishment and stopping fire spread to other buildings at the studio,” he said.
Tyler Perry and his representatives had no comment.
