Dayana Mendoza, Miss Universe 2008, was fired from ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ on Sunday after being in the bottom six times. The Venezuelan beauty was given her walking papers following her subpar performance per her team during their 90-second ‘Good Sam’ jingle that lost in favor to the opposing team.
“It was like the blind leading the seeing,” Clay Aiken said of Mendoza’s performance.
And as if Lisa Lampanelli’s recent ethnic slur of her teammate wasn’t enough, she added, “With all due respect, there’s nothing going on ‘up here.’”
With teammates like this, though Aubrey O’Day did offer support, perhaps Mendoza is really “relieved” to be booted from the show.
“I’m very happy…hanging out with my friend who’s here from Venezuela and we’re celebrating! I’m happy I did {the show}. I’m very proud of my work and most important; I did what I went to the show to do—to raise money for my charity. It was a great opportunity!” she told Fox News Latino.
Was she surprised when Donald Trump fired her?
“To be honest, I didn’t think I was going to go so long. I was (competing) against people who have been working in their career for as long as I’ve been alive. I think it was just my time…”
Does she think the show portrayed her accurately?
“Yes, completely. There was no behavior of mine that I did that wasn’t shown the way it was on TV. I understand that at the end of the day, I’m Miss Universe 2008 and people will always stereotype me that way. And I need to fight harder because of it.”
We like Dayana’s attitude even after being fired. Perspective is everything!
