Transformers Oscar VFX Reel. Why No Oscar Wins?

Transformers Oscar VFX Reel. Why No Oscar Wins?

Checkout this special effects reel that was posted on Michael Bay’s website. The video below features scenes from Trasformers, Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen and Transformers: Dark Moon. There is no denying the amount of impressive work that went into the details of these robotic organisms.

The VFX team included Scott Farrar, Scott Benza, Matthew Butler and John Frazier. Nominated for Best Achievement In Visual Effects for the 2007 Academy awards, the team suffered a surprising lost.

At the 2010 Oscars, Revenge Of The Fallen was only nominated for Best Achievement in Sound Mixing – (and lost), and at the most recent academy awards, for Best Achievement in sound editing, sound mixing and, of course, visual effects…. where it lost yet again.

The Academy may not like the transforming robotic creatures, but the fans showed their love for the franchise with their hard cash. The three Transformers movies combined for a staggering $1,073,748,606 billion worldwide!

Universal has confirmed along with Bay that there will be a 4th addition to the Transformers franchise, and Bay is teaming up with Steven Spielberg to create this fourth installment.

” We have been working on the idea for a few months. I’m excited about where it’s headed. But first I’m doing a small $20 million dollar edgy black comedy of a true crime story set in Miami called “Pain and Gain“, starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson, and very close to signing on a couple other great actors. I’m extremely excited to simplify my film career this spring with a great character piece.” Bay announced on his site Michaelbay.com
