Katy Perry Denies Taking A Swipe At Beyonce Knowles' Music

Rihanna once said there’s a pact: It’s me, Gaga, Katy Perry, Beyonce.’ To date, Beyonce Knowles has completed one duet with Lady Gaga and zero with Rihanna and Katy Perry. While the ladies dominate pop music, along with others not mentioned we’re guessing it doesn’t mean they have to like each others music.

The ‘Part of Me’ singer confirmed plans to musically collaborate with Rihanna,

“We’ve collaborated on a lot of things, but just not songs yet,” said Perry during a BBC Radio 1 interview. “It’s one of those things that’s got so much build up that we have to deliver.”

But she was sure to clarify who and what sound they weren’t going for.

“I want it to be like that Eurythmics and Aretha Franklin song ‘Sisters Are Doin’ It for Themselves.’ “Not ‘Beautiful Liar.'”

Beautiful Liar, Beyonce’s 2007 hit with Shakira. Of course Katy could be referring to her preference for a woman empowerment song with a feminist twist rather than women coming together after being scorned by love. But surely she knew this would stir the pot…and stirring the pot is good for business. Still the California Gurls is putting a lot of pressure on a duet that hasn’t gotten further than just an idea.

“How disappointed would you be if that song came out and it’s no good? Sometimes you have to wait for greatness.”

In an update: Perry has issued her denial…via Twitter of course.

“F*ck all y’all . . . dat thinks I dissed anyone, puhlez,” Perry, 27 Tweeted on Wednesday. “Get a life, cuz it’s not mine! #hoodratcominout. If ya ears are filled with wax it’s time to get a cleanse boo. Anywayz . . . (steps off box).”
