Giancarlo Esposito will play in J.J. Abrams’ upcoming NBC pilot Revolution.
The actor, who played a drug dealer on Breaking Bad and is currently playing an evil queen’s magic mirror on ABC’s Once Upon a Time, has landed a starring role in the show.
Revolution is based on a group of characters who struggle to reunite with loved ones and survive in a existence where there is no energy.
Esposito will play Captain Neville, who is a strict military man from the South who may not always be the person that he appears to be.
The creator Eric Kripke will write the show and Abrams and Bryan Burk are the executive producers. Jon Favreau will direct the Warner Bros. project.
The actor has been having great acting success lately. Besides Revolution and Once Upon a Time, he will also guest star in an upcoming episode of NBC’s Community.
