Don Cheadle, Idris Elba Nominated for Emmys

The 2012 Emmy Award nominations were announced today and once again the cable channels dominated the list, illustrating how much of a dominant force they have become in the television landscape.

Of the six shows nominated for best Drama Series, there were no network shows—just expected nominees like Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire and Mad Men.

When it comes to comedies, perhaps no show has been more dominant than Modern Family. Every single adult on the show, all six of them, got nominated for Emmy Awards—for them men, they took four of the six slots in the nominations.

There were nominations for several African-American actors, including Don Cheadle in House of Lies, Idris Elba in Luther, and Giancarlo Esposito in Breaking Bad.
