Orlando Bloom and Djimon Hounsou are set to star in Zulu.
Zulu, which is based on a novel by Caryl Férey, is a crime thriller about two Cape Town cops (Bloom, Hounsou) who are called in to investigate the murder of an 18-year-old girl who is the daughter of a Springbok rugby team player. The two police officers with roots on different side of the apartheid divide, work together to fight lawlessness in the post-apartheid era city.
Hounsou was recently set to play in Paradise Lost but Legendary Pictures decided to stop production on the movie because of budget issues. That factor freed up the actor for Zulu.
Bloom was last seen in The Three Musketeers. He is also getting ready to appear in Roger Donaldson’s film Cities as well as starring in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
Zulu is set to start filming in Cape Town this July.
