Unbelievable! Russell Brand decided to let his ex-wife Katy Perry off easy in their divorce settlement.
According to court documents, Perry and the actor have reached a “comprehensive written settlement of all issues including, without limitation, with respect to the property to be confirmed or assigned to each party.”
Brand, 36, did not take a cent of Perry’s earned fortune. The two did not even have a prenuptial agreement, but the Get Him to the Greek star was still turned off by the idea of splitting the pop star’s money in half.
In the actor’s papers, he put that they’ve reached a private settlement, checking that, “this cause may be decided as an uncontested matter” and they both waive their rights to a trial.
The 26-year-old Perry must have been thrilled about Brand’s decision: she reportedly signed the divorce papers with her custom happy signature – with a smiley face in her last name.
Perry also opted to legally restore her maiden name to Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, and asked in her documents that the court not be involved in awarding spousal support to Brand.
Russell Brand would have been legally entitled to half of Katy Perry’s earnings during their marriage.
The couple married in October 2010 and filed for divorce this past December.
