Rising star Haley Bennett has booked the lead role in Deep Powder. The Mo Ogrodnik-directed film is being made by Killer Films with Pam Koffler producing.
In addition to this new project, Bennett is playing the title character in Ella Walks The Beach, a drama about a young woman who spends 24 hours migrating along an iconic California beach, tasting what it’s like to be suddenly single.
The movie was written and will be directed by David Robert Mitchell. The Myth of the American Sleepover, Mitchell’s debut film, made it to SXSW and Cannes last year. Ella Walks The Beach is being produced by Adele Romanski, Chris Bender and Jake Weiner exec producing.
Bennett was last seen in Gregg Araki’s latest film, Kaboom. She is currently shooting another lead role in the untitled Terrence Malick-directed film that also stars Christian Bale.
