Showtime Renews 'Californication, 'House of Lies,' & 'Shameless'

Showtime has renewed returning series “Californication” and “Shameless” for additional seasons. The network has also brought back comedy series “House of Lies” after a successful  first season.

Californication, starring David Duchovny as a womanizing author, averages nearly 3 million viewers across multiple platforms during season 5 and has grown 10 percent year-over-year.

Emmy Rossum’s Shameless, which stars William H. Macyas an often drunk father of six, has continued to build ratings in its sophomore season. The dramedy is averaging 4.75 million weekly viewers across multiple platforms and encore airings, which is up 30 percent from last season.

The Don Cheadle comedy, House Of Lies, had a strong premiere behind Shameless earlier this month, and boosted Showtime’s Sunday night ratings.

Showtime’s  renewals will bring Californication into its sixth seaeson, Shameless into its third season, and House of Lies into its second season.
