Rihanna has some good news to share! ‘We Found Love‘ has spent it’s eighth week on Billboard Hot 100. Rihanna managed to best her own record with her latest single from her 6th studio album ‘Talk That Talk’. Despite the controversy around the single and lackluster sales on ‘Talk That Talk’ Rihanna is winning at the singles game. The Calvin Harris produced record beat out ‘Umbrella’ and ‘Love The Way You Lie’ with Eminem, both sat on top for seven weeks. On her way to breaking her own record Rihanna also surpassed Adele‘s ‘Rolling In The Deep’ which also had seven straight weeks on the charts for 2011.
Rihanna tweeted her excitement,
“#WFL is still at #1 on BBHot100 for an 8th week, making it our biggest record to date! Who knew we wud beat LTWYL r UMBRELLA? #MAJAH #TTT”
After experiencing two incidents of racism earlier this week, this is a great way to head into the weekend. Congrats Rihanna!
