It’s Confirmed! Chadwick Boseman will star as Jackie Robinson in biopic. Legendary Pictures has confirmed that Boseman will star in the long time dormant untitled project. The up and coming actor who had a small role in ‘The Express’ and starred on NBC’s ‘Person Unknown’, stated that he was honored to play the iconic african american baseball player.
If you didn’t know already; during the ugliest times in America (Racial Segregation) Jackie Robinson was able to be the first African American to be signed to the MLB (Major League Baseball) Robinson was instrumental in bringing an end to the the segregation the infected the professional baseball league. which regulated African Americans to play in the Negro Leagues for 10 years.
In his rookie year on the Brooklyn Dodgers, Robinson had 12 homeruns, 29 steals, and a .347 batting avg and was the most valuable player of the year. Eventually was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1962
Harrison Ford is also cast on the project as Branch Richie, the ground-breaking MLB executive who signed Robinson.
