Nicki Minaj is Billboard’s Rising Star. The ‘Super Bass’ singer who broke onto the scene with her hugely successful ‘Pink Friday’ album was honored tonight in New York City at Billboard Women in Music Awards.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized by Billboard,” Nicki said of the Rising Star honor. “My nation of Barbz and I have come a mighty long way-yet we are nowhere close to where God will take us. Sit back and enjoy the ride.”
Nicki who’s Pink Friday ensemble was immortalized into a Mattel Barbie for charity was joined by Taylor Swift who received the Billboard Women of the Year award. Swift said of the honor:
“I would go through every single page and every single chart and just daydream about what it would be like to see my name in there someday,” she said. “And today I walked in to flashing camera bulbs and all these important people in music, and I thought, ‘I guess that’s what it looks like.’”
Nicki also found some time to tweet at the ceremony to promote her new single “Roman In Moscow’ from her upcoming sophomore album ‘Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.’
She tweeted: “Being honored by Billboard right now. Sneaking this tweet. Roman In Moscow on itunes.”
Later Nicki added: “Walked out to a billion paparazzi and a MOB of barbz screaming the words to Roman in Moscow!!!! Hahahahhahahahahha! Thanks Billboard!!!”

Khloe Kardashian Fires Back At Harsh Comments Over Makeup Free Outing
Earlier today Khloe Kardashian was spotted out in Los Angeles without makeup. Of course she was heading to a work out with her personal trainer so no makeup is completely understandable. However, perhaps because she’s a Kim Kardashian‘s sister who is rarely ever spotted out without makeup, Khloe was expected to keep up the charade. After getting wind of the harsh remarks, Khloe defended herself via Twitter:
“It’s crazy to me that if I don’t go to the gym I get judged,” she wrote. “If I do, I still get judged. Yes, when you work out, you sweat [and] get red.”
“This is why I live for me and not for anyone else,” Lamar Odom’s wife added. “You learn quickly that you will NEVER make everyone happy in your life. But I am happy.”
In closing Khloe ended with a quote: “The more one judges, the less one loves.”
