Jeremy Renner sat down with Empire and shined some light, (a very dim light), on ‘The Bourne Legacy’. As you may know already, Renner will be taking over the Bourne franchise and a few major questions came up: Is he going to be Jason Bourne? and What happened to Matt Damon?
Renner says: “My character is called Aaron Cross“. This basically means that Jason Bourne is going nowhere. Renner is taking on a completely new character in the same world. Renner goes on to say that the formula is the same, the style is the same, just different agents with a new set of rules. However, it will no doubt be a Bourne movie.
There have been rumors that Renner’s character story will run concurrently with the original Bourne story which is a great way to tie Aaron Cross to Jason Bourne. There is a lot to look forward to with this spin-off and be sure to check back for the latest updates.
