Black Girls Rock: Mary J. Blige And Erykah Badu

Black Girls Rock 2011 was in full effect on BET last night. Reed Between the Lines star Tracee Ellis Ross co-hosted the event with Regina King. Performances included Mary J. Blige, Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Elle, Estelle and others.

Beverly Bond, former model and DJ, launched Black Girls Rock to ‘celebrate the brilliance of women’. Activist Angela Davis, gospel great Shirley Caesar, Taraji P. Henson, Laurel J. Richie, Imani Walker, Malika Saada Saar and Tatyana Ali were all honored last night.

There were a few great performances last night as well. Here’s Mary J. Blig ‘My Life’ and Erykah Badu ‘Appletree’.
