Update-Giuliana Rancic is recovering at home following her double lumpectomy cancer surgery from Tuesday of this week.
The E! news contributor’s husband, Bill Rancic, updated her progress with Ann Curry on The Today Show this morning.
“She’s a trouper. She pulled through it and was kind of relieved to get it over with and get the cancer out. It was kind of a long day. They’re many steps in the process when you go through this because it was on both breasts.”
Through Giuliana’s battle with breast cancer, the couple still managed to remain positive stating;
“We’re viewing this as a gift. It was caught very, very early and we’re going back to the doctor tomorrow. They had to remove a couple of lymph nodes and we’re hoping we get a report tomorrow.”
Rancic went on by acknowledging the difficulty they’ve encountered thus far regarding conception by stating he wish he could shoulder more of the burden.
“Between the in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments and now with this, I wish I could carry some of the load. I wish I could take some of the pain away”
With the worst part behind this resilient couple, they remained optimistic while heading into a post-op check-up with Giuliani’s doctor tomorrow.
Rancic also added that Giuliana hopes to return to work at E! next week and said that they are both very excited for the possibilities that lie ahead.
“We’re going to kick off 2012 with a new outlook on life, and we’re ready to take on the world.”
With support like this it’s no wonder Giuliana referred to him as “unbelievable”. Get well soon Giuliana!
