Alicia Keys was all set to produce her first Broadway play, Stick Fly written by Lydia R Diamond. But her plate just got a bit fuller when the Grammy-Award winning artist agreed to also compose original music for the play.
The cast for Stick Fly includes Dulé Hill, Mekhi Phifer, Tracie Thoms, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Rosie Benton and Condola Rashad.
Alicia said of the play in June,
“This is a story that everybody can relate to. I’m passionate about this play because it is so beautifully written and portrays Black America in a way that we don’t often get to see in entertainment. I know it will touch all audiences, who will find a piece of themselves somewhere inside this house.”
Stick Fly previews on Nov. 18 at the Cort Theatre and opens on Broadway on December 8th.
