Update- Nancy Grace is denying there was any nip slip/wardrobe malfunction the latest episode of Dancing With The Stars.
Last nights show was certainly one for the ladies as Kristin Cavallari who scored an impressive 22/30, Nancy Grace joined with a surprising 21/30 and Ricki Lake who stole the show with a sore of 23/30 came in with three of the highest ranked performances.
Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas started things off with a quickstep. Cavallari added a touch of style and glamor to the number by wearing a lengthy, white, Marilyn Monroe type gown which thoroughly pleased the judges. Although Goodman, who is generally the hardest to please, made a few pointers; he generally considered the performance a solid improvement from her previous week. Bruno Tonioli made sure to add his typical lavish praise by stating;
“I’ve been bedazzled by the blond bombshell! I love old, Hollywood glamor! This performance was twinkling with pleasure.”
Carrie Ann Inaba chimed in;
“Last week nervous; this week stunning! You kept your hold, you kept your frame. I thought it was gorgeous!”
Ricki Lake and Derek Hough landed in the top spot with an energetic rendition of the jive set to Outkast’s Hey Ya. Although Goodman went back to his usual critical reviews, he did make sure to add that Lake made an overall improvement from her previous performance.
“I liked the fun. I liked the exuberance. There was a lot of under-the-arm passes. But it was an improvement on last week.”
However, fellow judges Tonioli and Inaba didn’t wholeheartedly agree as they both claimed to enjoy her kicks. Inaba added;
“Best jive of the night so far!” earning Lake the highest score of the evening.
Nancy Grace and Tristan McManus spiced things up with a near wardrobe malfunction which almost left Nancy in the buff. Fortunately for us, TV cameras didn’t catch it as they instead focused on the reaction of the audience. Tom Bergeron jokingly said;
“On the European version, that would be perfectly fine.”
Goodman gave a surprisingly positive review by stating:
“How refreshing! Let me tell you: Every quickstep has broken the moves of the dance. You did that. I know what people are saying. They’re going to say, ‘Where’s the flash? Where was the razzamatazz?’ I don’t care. It was a proper quickstep.”
Bruno sarcastically followed;
“It was a bit top heavy at times.”, and after catching the full malfunction ala-internet, we can understand why.
Ironically Nancy and her nip slip may have won her a few more viewers and voters – elimination round is tomorrow. Who will get voted off?
Update: Nancy Grace tells US Magazine of the of the nip slip:
“We have taken every precaution known to men in this dress right here. I’m talking industrial size precaution. There may have been, as Tristan said, a little bit of jiggling but there was absolutely not a wardrobe malfunction.” Sorry to tell you Nancy – you’re wrong.
