Robert Zemeckis decides flight plan with Denzel Washington. Washington will play a “commercial airline pilot who pulls off a heroic feat of flying in a damaged plane and saving 98 lives on a flight carrying 106 people. While the world begs to embrace him as a true American Hero, the hero is plagued by guilt and struggles with this label as he is forced to hold up to the scrutiny of an investigation that brings into question his behavior the night before the doomed flight.”
For the past decade, director Zemeckis has devoted his time to animation films such as Beowulf, The Polar Express and Jim Carrey’s A Christmas Carol. However, Zemeckis also directed the great movie Cast Away a few years ago which proved tons more successful than any of his previous cartoons. The Back to the Future filmmaker and Paramount Pictures decided to take flight with Denzel Washington, and why not since the majority of his films as of late has been about unexpected chaos on mass transit?! (See: The Taking of Pelham 1-2-3 and Unstoppable.)
Casting is moving quickly to fill the spots around the star. Filming begins next month in Atlanta Ga
Does Mr. Washington need to do another movie like this?
Don’t you think its time for him to go after another Oscar?
