JLo’s marriage to Marc Anthony crumbled after seven years and it appears that these were the main factors. According to US magazine, Marc Anthony is accused of cheating on Jennifer at least once in 2009 and was jealous of her blossoming career. Marc sought full control over Jennifer’s career, her fashion choices and her life. It was no secret that Jennifer Lopez may have stalled on accepting a new contract with American Idol because Marc wanted Jenn to stay home with the kids.
A source tells US magazine,
“It was a very bad marriage, and Jennifer got the courage to end things,” Adding, JLo “actually has low self-esteem. And Marc really played into that insecurity. That’s why she put up with his abuse for such a long time.”
And where does Ben Affleck come in? Jennifer’s mother Guadalupe reportedly emailed him to seek advise for JLo’s crumbling marriage. Not sure how much advice Ben could offer, but reportedly three days after Affleck responded to the email, Jennifer and Marc announced their split.
