Beyonce continues to dominate the charts with her second week at number one with album “4”. Beyonce’s domination however, stops at holding on to the top spot for a second week in a row. Album sales on the hand are not so dominating. In it’s first week “4” sold just over 310, 000 copies but in it’s second week dropped 63% to 115, 000. According to Rolling Stone, Beyonce’s fan base is still based on “traditional hits and mainstream popularity, rather than a broader, percolating Internet fan base.” For instance, Lady Gaga’s million “Little Monsters” on Twitter and her highly successful “Farmville” game. Beyonce still hasn’t struck gold with a single from “4” but as Rolling Stone pointed out the mega hit “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It) was released much time after “I Am…” album debut. Should Beyonce consider joining the social network to further market her brand?
