Lady Gaga's 'Hair' Empowers The Individual

Lady Gaga’s “Hair” is touted as an empowering track for the individual – which appears to be a running theme in Gaga’s brand. Lady Gaga’s fourth single, “Hair” released ahead of her second studio album “Born This Way” is garnering mostly positive reviews from her 10 million plus “Monster” fans.

The track produced by Gaga’s hit maker RedOne who also worked on Jennifer Lopez’s “On the Floor” hits iTunes today. MTV describes the track as an “empowering track about embracing who you are. “Hair” is a fist-pumping, defiant disco track all about having a good time.”

Sample lyrics to “Hair” includes,

“Whenever I dress cool, my parents put up a fight/ And if I’m a hot shot, Mom will cut my hair at night/ And in the morning I’m short of my identity/ I scream, ‘Mom and Dad, why can’t I be who I want to be?’/ I’ve had enough, this is my prayer/ That I’ll die living just as free as my hair,” she sings as the music grows louder.

Lady Gaga releases “Born This Way” on May 23rd. Take a listen to “Hair” in the meantime. Does it empower you?
