Jill Scott may be in contempt of court after she spoke about a mystery man at her show in Atlanta earlier this month. Scott may be facing legal issues if that mystery man turns out to be her estranged husband Mike Dobson.
In her July 7 performance at the Fox Theater, Scott said, “You lose space and time, and somehow you wake up and you get up knowing.” She continued, “I did that, I lost someone and I hope he’s here.”
Fans responded to her heartfelt plea with, “Get him back!” She then began singing her 2011 song “Missing You”.
Fans may have concluded that the “Long Walk” singer was speaking about Dobson. But doing so would be a direct violation of the court order that stated both parties cannot speak publicly about each other.
According to Bossip, Scott’s little stunt caught the attention of Dobson’s legal team who reportedly plan to warn her about the repercussions of her actions.
Since Scott filed for divorce in 2017, after only 15 months of marriage, their public spats have grown nastier. Dobson once described Scott as “evil.” He told Bossip, “She’s an evil woman. I’m telling you. It’s like what Jill Scott wants, Jill Scott gets. People are in her ear, and if someone comes in to challenge the dumb sh-t, they made me be the bad guy and that got me outta there.”
