Montell Jordan Has Some Advice for Kanye West: You Need Jesus

Former R&B singer and current Atlanta preacher Montell Jordan offered rapper Kanye West some advice after West was hospitalized for a reported meltdown.

When TMZ caught up with him Sunday, Nov. 27, at Los Angeles’ LAX airport, Jordan advised the embattled artist to reconnect with God to hopefully find peace and tranquility in the world.

The advice comes six days after the Chicago rapper was hospitalized after abruptly canceling the remaining 21 dates of his Saint Pablo tour.

In the clip, the “This Is How We Do It” singer-turned-preacher tells TMZ the music business can take a mental toll on an artist and that religion may be a prescription for the mental drain.

” … I found that the only peace that you going to find is the peace that you don’t get from just regular, normal type of procedures,” Jordan says. “I found my peace in God. I think he knows the Lord, too. … He’s on a tougher journey than most because he’s got a lot of responsibility.”

TMZ reported that West was scheduled to leave UCLA Medical Center on Monday, but doctors told family members he still was in need of medical attention.

Since entering the medical center, the rapper has been diagnosed with extreme paranoia, and sources near him state that he also suffers from mental exhaustion.

Family members also attribute the Nov. 10 anniversary of his mother Donda West’s death as being a contributing factor in his meltdown.
