10 Black Celebrities Who Were Targeted by Thieves

Rihanna Rihanna does a lot of shows overseas – and thieves are taking note of those international concert tours. Back in October of 2013, a group of thieves smashed a sliding glass door to Rihanna’s home. The robbers managed to grab quite a few of the pop star’s belongings before getting scared off by her alarm system. Kanye West Kanye was busy wrapping up his “Watch the Throne” tour when thieves made their way inside his Los Angeles home. There were no reports about what the thieves took but eyewitnesses claim they dropped some of the stolen goods on their way out. Photo: Inside Movies Tyler Perry The famous Atlanta native and award-winning actor and film director received a double dose of thefts back in 2010. In early 2010 someone stole Perry’s credit card and spent almost $30,000. Later that year, a teenager broke into Perry’s home. Fortunately, the would-be crook was caught before she managed to steal anything. Sean Combs Sean Combs, also known as P. Diddy, is one of the wealthiest Black celebrities in the country but one thief was still only interested in the hip-hop mogul’s food. Back in 2012, a would-be crook broke into the mogul’s home and gorged on his food and alcoholic beverages without taking anything else from the home. Usher The R&B star learned a thing or two about leaving valuables in his car. When Usher made a quick stop at Lenox Mall in Atlanta in 2010, he returned to his car to find more than a million dollars worth of jewelry had been stolen. Expensive furs and tons of cash were also missing from the singer’s vehicle. 50 Cent The New York rapper is yet another Black celebrity who was targeted just for his good alcoholic beverages. An intruder broke into his home back in 2010 and was found by police hiding in the rapper’ closet with a bottle of expensive wine. Nelly What was supposed to be a fun evening at the Radio Music Awards in 2003 turned into a major headache for the “Country Grammar” rapper. Nelly returned to his Las Vegas hotel room to discover over $1 million in jewelry had been stolen. LL Cool J “Mama said knock you out” and LL Cool J did just that when a would-be robber broke into his home back in 2012. LL Cool J confronted the robber and quickly took him down before authorities even arrived at the scene. The thief suffered a broken nose, jaw and ribs. Queen Latifah Queen Latifah, whose real name is Dana Owens, was betrayed by hotel staff back in 2008. The actress, comedian and hip hop star was on vacation in the Caribbean when she came back to her villa only to find more than $10,000 worth of jewelry had been stolen. Authorities believe hotel staff was involved because there were no signs of forced entry. Sean Taylor Tragedy struck in 2007 when robbers broken into the home of the former free safety for the Washington Redskins. One of the intruders fatally shot Taylor during the robbery. The suspected shooter received a sentence of 57 and a half years although the jury could not unanimously agree on which robber might have pulled the trigger.
