Ol’ Dirty Bastard, Eazy-E Holograms Top Lineup for Rock The Bells 2013

A little over a year after a projection of Tupac Shakur walked onstage (so to speak) next to Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg at the 2012 Coachella festival, two more hip-hop  holograms will be unveiled at the Rock The Bells 2013 festival. The annual rap mecca will feature “original virtual performances” by Eazy-E, who will join Bone Thugs N Harmony, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who will be “reunited” with his Wu-Tang Clan brethren.

Other top-line artists at this year’s festival include Common, Rakim, Black Hippy, Kid Cudi, Earl Sweatshirt and Tyler, The Creator. The two-day fest will head to San Bernardino, Calif. on Sept. 7-8; Mountain View, Calif. on Sept. 14-15; Washington, D.C. on Sept. 28-29; and Rutherford, N.J. on Oct. 4-5.

Tickets for all Rock The Bells performances, except for the D.C. gig,  go on sale on May 18 at 10:00 am ET. The Washington, D.C. on-sale date is May 25.

Eazy-E died in March 1995 at the age of 31, and Ol’ Dirty Bastard died in 2004 at 35 years old. Eazy-E recorded the hit song “Foe tha Love of $” with Bone Thugs prior to his death in 1995, while ODB was a founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Meanwhile, Rock The Bells is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, with Peter Rosenberg and Murs 3:16 serving as hosts. Last year’s lineup was topped by Nas, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Kid Cudi and J. Cole.
