Ahoy, matey: Get a taste of the sea this weekend (9/21-9/23) at the annual Redondo Beach Surf ‘n Turf Lobster Festival.
The waterfront event, a rock- and food-fest, offers three days of entertainment, plus a chance to eat Maine lobster and New York strip steak. The festival is hosted by the Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau.
“Our venue at the big, sandy Seaside Lagoon makes our festival distinctive from others,” said Pete Moffett, producer of the festival. “We offer the best Maine lobster, Angus steaks and a choice collection of a dozen favorite fair foods.”
Lobster dinner packages range from $33 to $53, with other fair foods, including barbecue chicken and lobster mac and cheese, priced around $10 or less. Admission is $5 for children and $12 for adults. Food and admission tickets can be purchased online at a discount.
Various bands will play during the event, with diverse music styles included, such as rockabilly, R&B, rock and pop and Elvis and Steely Dan revues.
Festival hours are from 5-11 p.m. Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday at Seaside Lagoon, 200 Portofino Way, Redondo Beach. Info: (310) 376-6911.
