Rihanna Instagram – Rihanna has given her late grandmother the ultimate honor: She has memorialized her with a large tattoo of the goddess Isis across her chest, just below her breasts.
The “What’s My Name” singer posted the picture of her new inkings on Instagram, using her hands to cover her breasts—showing a rare bit of Rihanna modesty. (This is the woman who took her own nude photos in the mirror when she was with Chris Brown, remember?) The wings of the Egyptian goddess can be seen spreading across Rihanna’s rib cage.
Alongside the picture, Rihanna wrote: “Goddess Isis – Complete Woman – Model for future generations – #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love”
The world participated in Rihanna’s mourning over the summer for her grandmother Clara “Dolly” Brathwaithe, who passed away from cancer two months ago in a New York City hospital. “Dry cry, even tears… Even my heart cry but who cares?’ she posted. A string of tweets dedicated to her late grandmother poured forth, echoing the singer’s mourning. “Words can’t explain the essence of her beauty,” she said. “You and you alone no other one.” . “Goodbye #grangranDOLLY get your beauty rest until I see you,” Rihanna tweeted on July 1.
Later when she was vacationing back home in Barbados, she tweeted: “#grangranDOLLY? I know you smiling down on me brightly, I could feel it in the sunshine ?#1Love? forever.”
Outside the tattoo parlor where she got her Isis done, Rihanna interacted with fans and even shared a kiss with a very excited young woman. And in her usual style, she had some choice words for a celeb who didn’t appreciate her new short haircut.
Piers Morgan tweeted: “I think @Rihanna needs to grow her hair back. Fast.”
Rihanna responded: “grow a d*ck….. FAST!!!!’
A little more cryptically, Rihanna also seems to have alluded to her romance with Chris Brown.
The Isis tat is believed to be Rihanna’s 18th tattoo, joining a flying Egyptian falcon in the shape of a handgun above her right ankle, a pistol on her thigh, cross on her collarbone, music note on her ankle, Pisces sign behind her right ear and the word “love” on her left middle finger.
She also has a trail of stars emblazoned on the back of her neck, alongside the French saying “Rebelle Fleur,” which means rebellious flower.
