Miami star guard Dwyane Wade underwent arthoscopic surgery on his left knee this morning, an attempt to correct an injury that hampered him throughout the Heat’s playoff run that ended with a championship.
Wade played with the pain and at times looked quite limited with his mobility. The surgery prevents Wade from being a member of Team USA in the London Olympics. However, with a six-to-eight week recovery, he should be healthy for the start of the NBA’s regular season.
Wade led the Americans in scoring at the Beijing Olympics, averaging 16 points despite coming off the bench in all eight games.
