According to sources, a crew member has died on set of the “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” film.
Witnesses reported that the tragic accident happened Tuesday as the man was working to demolish the set after a scene. A high-powered lift the man was operating suddenly tipped over, causing him to lose his life.
“Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the [crew member’s] family at this time,” Paramount Pictures said in a statement.
“The safety of our cast and crew is our top priority and the studio is fully cooperating with all investigating agencies as they examine the circumstances surrounding this unusual accident,” the statement added.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation is an upcoming science fiction action film, which stars Channing Tatum, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Bruce Willis, and Ray Park. The soon-to-come film is a sequel to the 2009 film “G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra”.
The movie will hit theaters in June 2012.
