So its confirmed that Kristen Stewart has been offered the lead role of Kei in Warner Bros ‘Akira’ movie. If Stewart decides to take this offer this will make her third francise. ‘Twilight Breaking Dawn: Part 1′ which opens on Friday. Also with the release of the trailer of ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ its easy to say that this is going to just as awesome. Akira also is designed as a franchise, although it’s unclear whether it’s going to be two or three films.
Warner Bros is bringing the favorite Japanese manga series to the big screen. The movie takes place in New Manhattan and follows two brothers who develop abilities to become weapons of mass destruction.
Tron’s Garrett Hedlund has also been offered to play Kaneda, and Gary Oldman was offered to play the Colonel. We reported before that Ezra Miller is being considered for Tetsuo. Although its clear what direction the studio is going in, there has been no confirmation at this time.
