Kate Middleton and Prince William wrapped up their American tour Sunday July 11, 2011, departing a British Airways flight from LAX. The couple had something of a demanding visit filled with parties, charity events, and celebrity hobnobbing.
One of the more poignant moments during the visit was when Prince William addressed an audience at The Mission Serve “Hiring Our Heroes Los Angeles” Job Fair in Culver City.
“As this is my last opportunity before we leave this afternoon. I would just say, on behalf of us both, how grateful we are to have been welcomed so warmly in the Golden State and the City of Angels.”
William and Kate came across fellow UK native David Beckham during a reception, hosted by Dame Barbara Hay, Britain’s Consul-General where Beckham, stated;
“They are real superstars now. We’re so delighted they decided to come to LA — we feel really proud to have them here. Victoria is absolutely gutted she couldn’t make it along to see them.”
William graciously replied;
“Don’t be silly. Please send her all our love and tell her good luck with it all.” Victoria Beckham gave birth to daughter Harper Seven Beckham on Sunday (7.10.11).
The trip was not without its playful interludes. While having the opportunity to show off his skills at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet club, William remarked;
“Catherine and I have had a busy few days so the prospect of being able to let loose this afternoon is wonderful for me.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton are rumored to be entitled with godparents to little Harper Seven Beckham…what an honor!
