Police are looking for the person who shot and killed one man and injured another in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood.
It happened just after midnight Tuesday in a building in the 5200 block of South Harper Avenue.
Henry Atkins, 39, was shot in the chest and died on the scene.
Luis Galvan, 21, was shot in the left hand. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Galvan tells WGN-TV that Atkins came over to his home when a man, who neither one of them knew, came out of nowhere and started shooting.
He says only one bullet was fired; that bullet went through his hand and hit Atkins in the chest.
Galvan says he doesn’t know the suspect, but has seen him around the neighborhood. He has given a description to police.
Atkins was married with two children and had plans to move out of the neighborhood.
Galvan says he has plans to move out of the neighborhood as well.
