An off-duty Pennsylvania police officer allegedly ran a man’s plates and questioned him after deeming him “shady,” only to learn the man was an investigator working with state police.
The man, who goes by “Ralphy21k” on TikTok, posted a video of the encounter on Sept. 9 and called it “racial profiling.”
Viewers have called it one of the most “satisfying” clips they’ve seen online.

Ralphy21k, who had a Puerto Rican flag in his sports car, wrote in the comments that the officer “saw it and instantly asked if I had drugs and alcohol.”
Ralphy21k says the off-duty police chief pulled up behind his sports car while he parked on an ungated residential street.
He activated the blue lights on his unmarked truck, stepped out in street clothes, and peered into the passenger-side window.
Then he recited Ralphy21k’s full name and home address, which Ralphy21k says he got by running his plates.
“Why are you hanging out here?” the officer asked.
“Why are you asking me questions?” Ralphy21k replied.
“Because you’re parked in a private neighborhood, and your story doesn’t make sense,” the officer said.
Ralphy21k, who works in insurance investigation, put a state police trooper on speakerphone, and the trooper immediately challenged the officer.
The trooper noted he was off duty and outside his jurisdiction in Washington Township.
The officer stood his ground. “If somebody was parked near your house and it was shady, would you not talk to them?” he asked, then threatened to call the trooper’s barracks captain the next day.
“I can literally see his reaction after he hears state police,” Ralphy21k wrote in the comments.
Commenters rallied behind Ralphy21k.
“So, he illegally ran your plates, harassed you off the clock, AND was out of jurisdiction? Omg, if you don’t sue, I’m gonna be so mad,” one wrote.
Another said, “Then he tried to intimidate you by telling you your whole address and everything to let you know he knows exactly who you are.”
A third added, “And then attempt to intimidate the officer on the phone.”
The video has topped 3 million views, and commenters are demanding answers.
Whether the officer faces any consequences or whether Ralphy21k pursues a complaint remains unclear.
