Mel B and Eddie Murphy have finally come to a consensus regarding their two-year child support dispute.
The Daily Mail reports it obtained court documents showing Murphy “has agreed to pay ex Mel B $35,000 monthly in child support for their 15-year-old daughter.”
The “Spice Girl” vocalist, who is formally known as Melanie Brown, went to court in 2020 to change her child support agreement with Murphy, who was initially paying $25,000 a month.
The DailyMail reported Murphy, “who is identified in the filing as an ‘extraordinarily high earner,’ will have to shell out an extra $10,000 a month.”
Murphy’s payments are scheduled to be made until their daughter, Angel Iris Murphy Brown, turns 18 years old.
The television presenter sought the increase in child support after she claimed her earnings had hit a decline.
The Daily Mail described the filing from 2020 which read, “Unfortunately, Melanie’s income has dramatically reduced, such that she must consider modifying child support for the first time.’”
Brown and Murphy met in 2006 after attending a party in Beverly Hills and dated for nine months. The two quickly became one of Hollywood’s power couples until things took a turn for the worse in late 2006 and the pair found themselves split up while Brown carried her second child, Murphy’s eighth, in midst of their relationship drama.
In Brown’s memoir, “Brutally Honest,” which was released in 2018, she talked about her relationship with Murphy as well as describing him being the one who got away.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the “X-Factor” judge admitted she will always love the “Beverly Hills Cop” actor, but refrained from stating if she was still in love with him due to it being, “unfair for me to talk like that because he’s in a committed relationship.”
Since Angel, Murphy has had two more children, Izzy and Max Murphy, with model fiancée Paige Butcher.
