Television personality Nene Leakes is steadily expanding her empire and cashing in the checks. From writing books to owning her own boutique, the 51-year-old star is racking up the dough. Here are five ways Leakes generates income.
- Nene Leakes Owns a Clothing Boutique
Leakes launched her clothing store Swagg Boutique on May 21 at MGM National Harbor in Maryland. She also owns two other locations in Duluth, Georgia, and Miami, Florida.
She apparently served as the interior decorator and designer of her boutique, according to an Instagram post she shared on May 19.
2. Nene Leakes is a spokesperson for a Hair Company, Color Mane Wigs
On October 1, the “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star announced she was the spokesperson for Color Mane Wigs. The jobs consists of her modeling different hair-pieces for the company, including her infamous blond wigs.
3. Nene Leakes Does Stand-Up Comedy
The supposed “Queen of Shade” took her talents onstage and began doing stand-up comedy shows around 2016.
In early February, she hosted the countrywide “Ladies Night Out Comedy Tour” which featured Adele Givens, Loni Love, Sherri Sheperd, Kym Whitley and more.
4. Nene Leakes Stars on ‘RHOA’
Leakes became a breakout star on “Real Housewives of Atlanta” in 2008 and was given the name “Shady Boots” by viewers. She left the Bravo reality series in 2015, but rejoined the cast in 2017.
5. She’s a Published Author
The mother of two released her first book, “Never Make the Same Mistake Twice: Lessons on Love and Life Learned the Hard Way,” in 2009. The memoir charts Leakes’ success journey and painful childhood.
