Melyssa Ford’s traumatic car accident aftermath has not just affected her physically but also emotionally, and she admitted to now battling depression. Over the weekend, Ford shared revelations on Instagram about her mental health with a photo of her sitting and looking at a beach view.
In a lengthy caption Ford wrote about her feeling of depression, “I’m battling Depression. Crushing, malignant Depression. It was always there; it’s just been made a little worse because of the head trauma from the crash.” She went on, “There are days where simple tasks takes the effort of 40 men; mornings where I’m unhappy to wake and see the sun because it’s another day spent listlessly looking for solid meaning in life.”
She also explained that she doesn’t feel like the same person she was before the accident, “The guilt I feel at having survived and not feeling constant gratitude is a heavy weight to bear. I’m trying to jump back into my life but it feels like there are two Me’s: Before and After the crash.”
Last month, Ford informed her fans hat she was grateful for all the love and support she has received since her nearly fatal accident from earlier this year. In a video she shared on Instagram she said, “I just want to say thank you to everyone for your prayers, love and support. I’ve been overwhelmed and humbled by it.” She also speaks about recovering from her accident. “I’m home and trying to recover. I’m still in a lot of pain and my body is slowly healing.”
